Mission Give Foundation started as the brain child of North Little Rock, Arkansas Police Veteran Officer Tommy Norman.
Throughout his 20 years serving the North Little Rock community, Tommy possessed a passion for building relationships within his community. He spent his shifts meeting children at the bus stop, visiting with senior citizens at the local center and laying the foundation for respectful and loving relationship with the people he was called to serve. Over the years Tommy became known for his love and his commitment to the people. As a hometown hero it was common to see Tommy passing out snacks to children, working the high school games and participating in the annual “Shop with A Cop” program during the holidays. However, with the growing popularity of social media Tommy decided to showcase his daily commitment and interactions to his social media friends. Tommy had no idea that simply posting videos of what he has done for close to 20 years would gain so much attention and ignite a movement. Within two years, Tommy’s social media following grew to over 1.2 million! People from all over the world fell in love with Tommy’s method of community policing and his heart for people. Tommy’s relationship with his community was a breath of fresh air in the wake of many tragedies involving police officers. Through Tommy’s efforts to show the world that “every badge should have a heartbeat” he garnered national attention as well as the attention of Famous Rapper, Jayceon “Game” Taylor. The rapper and his son were so inspired by Tommy’s community policing they launched a GoFundMe campaign to support Tommy’s efforts in a greater totality. The campaign was a huge success, raising over fifty thousand dollars to help continue the work in the community. It was covered by major news outlets and followed by many celebrities inspired by the movement. In the summer of 2016, after a successful campaign, Tommy assembled a passionate and talented team with a heart for people and founded Mission Give Foundation.
